Why do alumina industrial ceramics wear out?
Wear resistant ceramics is one of best wear protection material in bulk material handling system , with its economical performance and high hardness , it is widely used in kinds of system machine , but it also can be wear out after long time work, The main reasons for the wear of alumina industrial ceramics include external forces, long use time and the influence of the external environment. ?
?External forces?: Alumina ceramics are often subjected to various external forces and pressures during operation. These external forces mainly come from vibration, collision and improper handling during operation. Strong impact can directly lead to loosening and peeling of particles on the surface of alumina ceramics, and even damage to the entire structure. Continuous pressure may cause stress concentration inside the material, which in turn causes the expansion of microcracks and eventually leads to the failure of the overall structure. ?Excessive use time?: Long-term use will cause alumina ceramics to wear out. Although this is a normal wear phenomenon, it needs to be replaced when the wear is excessive. Long-term use will gradually wear out the ceramic material, and eventually it needs to be replaced to ensure normal operation. ?Influence of the external environment?: Environmental factors include the influence of media, wind force, temperature, etc. Corrosive media, wind force and temperature changes will affect the performance of alumina ceramics. Corrosive media will erode the surface of ceramics, causing peeling and pitting. Wind erosion will cause continuous impact and grinding of the ceramic surface, increasing the surface roughness. Temperature changes will also affect the thermal expansion and softening of ceramics. High temperature will accelerate the thermal expansion and softening of the material and reduce its wear resistance; while low temperature may make the material brittle and more prone to breakage.
In order to reduce the wear of alumina ceramics, the following measures can be taken:
?Avoid collision with objects?: Try to avoid collision between ceramics and objects during operation to reduce the impact and pressure of external forces on ceramics. ? Regular inspection and maintenance?: Regularly check the status of the ceramics, promptly repair and replace severely worn parts to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
